Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, including role definition, advertising, interviews, selection, induction and probation reviews.
  • Provide practical HR and employee relations advice to managers, supervisors and directors.
  • Support  ongoing performance management processes, including feedback, coaching, development discussions and performance improvement plans.
  • Interpret and apply Australian employment legislation, including the NES, Modern Awards and relevant industrial instruments. Lead wage and role classification reviews to achieve balance between market and business requirements
  • Lead or support workplace investigations, grievances, misconduct matters and other sensitive employee relations issues.
  • Conduct exit interviews and use insights to support retention, engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate return-to-work claims and suitable duties programs in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with insurers, medical practitioners, managers and employees to support safe, timely and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
  • Contribute to a safe, compliant and respectful workplace, supporting WHS obligations, due diligence and sound people practices.

About You

You are an assertive, confident, credible and solutions-focused HR generalist who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving and building strong relationships across all levels of a business.  You are comfortable managing complex or sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.

Essential experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
  • Sound knowledge of Fair Work legislation, NES, Modern Awards and workplace relations
  • Demonstrated experience managing recruitment and employee relations matters
  • Experience supporting workplace investigations, performance management and sensitive employee relations processes.
  • Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements
  • Experience as a Return to Work Coordinator (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with high levels of integrity and discretion.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline (highly regarded)
