Job Description

Job specific duties

As a Graphic Designer, you will support the delivery of:

  • Designing and producing high quality digital and print communication materials that align with NHMRC branding, accessibility and editorial guidelines.
  • Creating visual content for a range of channels, including social media, websites, intranet, newsletters, publications, presentations and campaigns.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to develop creative concepts and deliver engaging communication products that support business objectives.
  • Designing and producing materials for NHMRC events and stakeholder activities, including invitations, banners, signage, brochures, programs, presentations and promotional materials.
  • Delivering major corporate publications and projects, including the Annual Report, Corporate Plan, corporate publications and other strategic communication products.
  • Providing advice and recommendations on visual communication, branding, accessibility and design best practice.
  • Managing and maintaining NHMRC’s library of visual assets, templates and brand resources.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of NHMRC’s communication products, processes and visual identity.
  • Undertaking other duties as directed.

  • Experience designing high quality digital and print communications products using contemporary design software and technologies.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across NHMRC and with external providers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work within tight timeframes.
  • Sound judgement, initiative and accountability in the delivery of work.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach, with a strong commitment to team outcomes and client service.
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to apply creativity across a range of communication channels and platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team environment.

Highly desirable

  • Experience with video editing, animation and multimedia production.
  • Understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and accessible document design.
  • Experience working within government branding, publishing or communication environments.
