Full Stack .NET Developer

Job Description

This role is delivery-focused across modern web technologies, contributing to platform evolution within established architecture and under senior technical direction.

Duties

1.  Software Development & Architecture 

• Develop and maintain the FR5 Web Portal using ASP.NET MVC (Sitefinity CMS), C#, and related technologies. 
• Implement modern, reusable Vue.js components to deliver complex, interactive UIs. 
• Contribute to RESTful Web APIs consumed by internal and external applications. 
• Support development of small .NET 8 Azure Function Apps used in the FR5 ecosystem. 
• Provide primary development support for the Whole of Home (WoH) Node.js application when required, focusing on stabilisation, defect resolution, and incremental improvements. 
• Support transition activities to reduce reliance on WoH over time (e.g., incremental migration, decommissioning planning, or replacement solutions), in line with agreed priorities. 

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code aligned with DDD and Clean Architecture principles. 
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate on design decisions. 

2. Collaboration & Growth 

• Work collaboratively with senior developers and the Technical Lead, contributing to team delivery goals and taking ownership of assigned features and refactoring tasks. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including user experience (UX), product, quality assurance (QA), and business stakeholders. 

• Demonstrate willingness to learn and expand skill sets, particularly in Sitefinity, Vue.js, and Azure Functions. 
• Share knowledge with peers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. 

3. Quality & Process Improvement 

• Apply best practices in version control (Git), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and testing. 
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality, documentation, and architectural consistency. 

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and iterative development cycles. 
• Support improvements in development workflows and tooling. 

Skills and relevant experience

1. Technical Expertise 

• Demonstrated commercial experience delivering and maintaining C#/.NET web applications in production environments. 
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC (experience with Sitefinity CMS highly regarded). 
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js preferred; React or Angular also considered). 
• Understanding of Web APIs, REST, and integration patterns. 

• Exposure to Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, and Azure cloud services. 
• Experience maintaining a Node.js application in production, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and support an existing Node.js codebase. 

2. Software Engineering Best Practices 

• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and design patterns. 
• Demonstrated experience refactoring legacy applications to improve maintainability, reduce coupling, and align with modern architectural principles. 
• Commitment to clean code, testability, and maintainable architecture. 
• Familiarity with DDD and Clean Architecture principles desirable. 

3. Collaboration & Communication 

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile team environment. 
• Good written and verbal communication skills, able to translate requirements into working solutions. 

4. DevOps & Tooling 

• Proficiency with Git and experience in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions). 
• Experience with Agile development processes.
