Job Description

he Role

As our Staff Full-Stack Engineer (Frontend Focus), you’ll architect and build the web platform that powers drivers, operations teams, and admin functions. You’ll own the frontend architecture using React while understanding and designing APIs that your backend team builds. This is a rare hybrid role: deep frontend expertise with enough backend knowledge to make smart architectural decisions across the full stack.

You’re not just a React developer — you’re an engineer who thinks about data flow, API contracts, real-time systems, and scalability. You’ll set technical standards for how frontend and backend work together.

This is 60-70% hands-on React code, 20-30% backend integration work, and 10% mentorship. This is not a management role.

What You’ll Own

• Develop, test, and maintain frontend applications using React (v18 or newer) and TypeScript.

• Translate business and functional requirements into efficient technical solutions

• Develop reusable components and state management solutions

• Design APIs with backend team for efficient frontend consumption

• Optimize app performance for maximum speed and scalability

• Lead code reviews and set testing standards (unit/integration/E2E)

• Implement JWT/OAuth flows and handle sensitive data

• Add observability: monitoring, logging, production debugging

• Evaluate frontend tools/libraries for team productivity

What You Bring

• 8+ years software engineering; 4+ years shipping multiple production React apps

• React mastery: hooks, state management, routing, context

• Proficiency in TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and CSS.

• Experience with API design/integration: REST/GraphQL, pagination, caching

• Experience with performance profiling: Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, React DevTools

• Experience with testing frameworks: Vitest/Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress E2E

• Experience with using feature flags for safe rollouts and A/B testing

• Good knowledge of CI/CD deployment and backend development

• Experience with full-stack delivery from UI mockup to deployment ownership

• Strong problem-solving, systems thinking and analytical skills

• Clear communicator: explains trade-offs, writes enduring docs

Nice-to-Have

• Ride-sharing, delivery, or real-time mapping app experience

• Google Maps API or Mapbox integration

• Stripe / payment gateway integration

• Open source contributions (especially React ecosystem)
