Job Description
We’re looking for a frontend developer who thrives on designing interfaces that feel right—not just look good. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that believes animations aren’t embellishments; they’re signals. If you’ve ever argued about easing curves or refactored a component tree because it felt off, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
- Implement pixel-precise, highly interactive UI components using React and Framer Motion
- Collaborate closely with designers in Figma to translate prototypes that go beyond static mockups
- Build reusable component systems with accessibility baked in
- Fine-tune transitions, scroll behaviors, hover states, and modal interactions until they’re seamless
- Work with our in-house performance engineer to keep interaction latency under 100ms
- Participate in weekly UI/UX audits with the design team to continuously refine what we’ve shipped
- Develop for multi-screen responsiveness, especially across irregular viewports (think foldables, WebViews)
- Manage dynamic data rendering with API-driven components (GraphQL + REST)
- Ensure consistency between motion and behavior across microinteractions
You’re Right for This If You
- Have 3–5 years of frontend experience, at least 2 with React (Hooks + Context API)
- Can articulate the tradeoffs between CSS animations vs JS-based motion libraries
- Are obsessive about layout alignment, input responsiveness, and perceived performance
- Have built and maintained design systems (we use Storybook and Chromatic)
- Know when to use
useMemo
, when not to, and why rerenders happen - Can debug why a transform animation looks janky on Safari without pointing fingers
- Have worked on apps that required offline support or dynamic caching
- Can pair with designers and say, “This interaction will feel better if we…” and then build it
Bonus Points
- Experience with canvas-based rendering (e.g. Konva, Fabric.js)
- Familiarity with WebGL or Three.js for subtle ambient UI elements
- Worked in environments where A/B testing involved layout changes
- Contributions to open-source component libraries or motion tooling
