Job Description

About the Role:

We’re seeking a frontend developer who goes beyond just “making things look good.” You’ll be building interfaces for a data-rich product used daily by technical users who expect fast response times, clean interactions, and zero bloat. This role is part of a cross-functional team shipping production features weekly. You’ll contribute to architectural decisions and own complex UI implementations from design to deployment.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain UI components using React (v18+) and TypeScript, with strict typing and interface contracts.
  • Translate Figma mockups into accessible, responsive, and maintainable frontend code.
  • Build reusable UI libraries (internal components, utilities, and hooks) with Storybook documentation.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to define clean API contracts and handle GraphQL query optimization.
  • Optimize performance on high-interaction pages using profiling tools (React DevTools, Lighthouse, etc.).
  • Maintain test coverage using Jest and React Testing Library; write E2E tests with Playwright.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to design system consistency.
  • Triage and fix frontend issues in production with structured debugging and logging tools (e.g., Sentry, LogRocket).

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in React + TypeScript in production environments.
  • Strong command of state management patterns (e.g., Zustand, Jotai, or Redux Toolkit).
  • Deep understanding of DOM rendering lifecycles, browser performance, and component memoization.
  • Experience working with GraphQL (Apollo or urql), including query batching and caching strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build responsive UIs without relying on frameworks like Bootstrap—using CSS-in-JS or TailwindCSS preferred.
  • Comfortable working with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Vercel/Netlify integrations).
  • Strong Git practices, experience working in trunk-based development or short-lived feature branches.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and testing via Axe or similar tools.
