Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Forensic Computer Analyst to support complex digital investigations involving criminal activity, corporate breaches, and internal fraud. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the acquisition, preservation, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence in accordance with legal standards and forensic protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct forensically sound acquisitions of digital media using industry-standard tools (e.g., FTK Imager, EnCase, X-Ways, Cellebrite).
  • Analyze hard drives, mobile devices, cloud platforms, and volatile memory for indicators of compromise (IoC), deleted artifacts, and malicious activity.
  • Identify and interpret log data from systems, firewalls, and network devices to reconstruct events in a timeline format.
  • Assist in the development of forensic methodologies for analyzing encrypted and obfuscated data sets.
  • Prepare detailed, admissible forensic reports suitable for internal and external stakeholders including law enforcement and legal teams.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure preservation of chain-of-custody and compliance with jurisdictional requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CJIS).
  • Serve as expert witness when needed, articulating complex technical findings in a clear, legally defensible manner.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity in sensitive casework.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Information Security, or closely related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct digital forensics experience, preferably in a law enforcement, military, or enterprise investigative context.
  • Hands-on expertise with forensic suites such as Magnet AXIOM, X-Ways Forensics, and Volatility Framework.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline forensic workflows and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience with forensic imaging and triage in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Working knowledge of file system structures (NTFS, APFS, ext4), registry analysis, email parsing, and browser artifact recovery.
  • Active certification in GCFA (GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst), CFCE, or EnCE required. Additional certifications such as CHFI, CISSP, or CIPP/US considered a plus.
  • Strong understanding of legal considerations, eDiscovery processes, and evidence admissibility standards.
  • Excellent documentation, verbal communication, and analytical thinking skills under pressure.
