Engineering Team Lead

Your new role

As Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating a team of engineers and designers while acting as a senior technical authority across complex power systems projects. You will balance project delivery, people leadership and client engagement, ensuring work is delivered safely, accurately and to a high professional standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and coordinating workloads across engineers, designers and support staff
• Acting as a senior technical resource for protection and power systems design
• Undertaking hands‑on engineering, including designs, studies, calculations and reports
• Reviewing engineering outputs for quality, compliance and consistency
• Managing project delivery including milestones, resourcing, budgets and risks
• Providing technical mentoring, coaching and day‑to‑day guidance to team members
• Engaging with clients, suppliers and subcontractors on technical and delivery matters
• Contributing to tenders, scopes of work, pricing and continuous improvement initiatives

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical expertise combined with proven leadership capability.

You will ideally have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 15+ years’ industry experience, including leadership of engineering teams
• 10+ years’ experience in protection and power systems design
• CPEng and RPEQ accreditation
• Experience managing multiple concurrent engineering projects
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving skills
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate high‑performing teams
