Director of Engineering 

Job Description

This is a technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in IAM, modern authentication protocols, fraud systems, cloud security, and large-scale distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities :

– Execute identity vision aligned with product and platform strategy.

– Partner with Product and Engineering to design secure, compliant, and scalable authentication, fraud, kyc and kyb capabilities

– Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive best practices in secure identity management

– Lead initiatives for zero-trust architecture, passwordless authentication, and identity innovation.

– Collaborate with product, security, and engineering teams to deliver seamless, secure user experiences

– Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards for financial services

– Manage large software development efforts and cross-functional scrum teams

– Collaborate with product managers, product owners and agilists to achieve well defined release plans

– Define software development standards and engineering disciplines

– Evaluate and communicate risks in an appropriate and timely manner to stakeholders

– Foster continuous improvement using tools and engineering metrics

– Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing global team of software engineers.

– Provide an environment where engineering innovation and continuous learning can thrive and team commitment flourishes

– Develop a culture that encourages excellence and high job satisfaction

Requirements :

– 10+ years of software engineering leadership experience with strong expertise in identity management for financial industries.

– Deep knowledge of security and fraud concepts and technologies

– Knowledge of Java programming language.

– Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and secure application development

– Deep experience designing scalable, distributed systems with high availability and performance

– Deep experience integrating solutions with a goal of frictionless or minimal friction user experiences.

– Proven technical leadership and ability to drive architecture and platform decisions working with architects.

Preferred :

– Deep experience with identity platforms (Auth0, Okta, Keycloak, Ping) and custom IAM solutions

– Experience with transactional (ex. NICE Actimize or Verafin) and behavioral (ex. BioCatch, Callsign) anomaly detection services

– Experience with building monitoring and alerting systems that search for exposed data on the dark web or system vulnerabilities.

– Experience with extensible platforms, including modularization of components, allowing applications to invoke features as needed.

– Experience with KYC or KYB solutions such as Alloy, Socure, or Prove.

– Background in highly regulated fields such as financial services and/or banking.

– Knowledge of zero-trust security models and emerging trends in identity protection

– Passion for security, scalability, and delivering frictionless user experiences
