Description

This role is responsible for leading and growing the Water/Wastewater Department while providing senior-level engineering and project management oversight across a range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The position supports projects from concept development through design and construction while contributing to staff leadership, client coordination, and business development. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and grow the Water/Wastewater Department
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and staff supervision
  • Support hiring, performance management, and staff development

Engineering & Project Delivery:

  • Manage projects from concept through final design and construction support
  • Prepare construction documents, cost estimates, schedules, and work plans
  • Define scope, manage budgets, and coordinate sub-consultants
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Maintain accurate project records

Technical Focus Areas:

  • Water and wastewater master planning
  • Infrastructure analysis and system evaluation
  • Water distribution, pumping, and treatment system design
  • Wastewater collection systems, lift stations, and treatment facilities
  • Well equipping and site/civil design

Client & Business Development:

  • Coordinate with stakeholders and regulatory agencies
  • Support public outreach and prepare presentations
  • Assist with marketing efforts and proposal development
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or higher from an accredited university or college
  • Must possess 15 years of progressive experience and 10 years in project management
  • Municipal experience in water/wastewater
  • Experience managing water and wastewater projects
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities

Preferred:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
  • Experience leading a technical department or practice area
