Job Description

A glimpse into your day

  • Set and drive Arcadia’s IT and digital strategy, embedding AI and BIM across every studio.
  • Lead the DIT team, including studio-based BIM/Digital Design Leads and the national IT Support/Help Desk team.
  • Restructure the DIT operating model and govern Arcadia’s Common Data Environment.
  • Chair AI governance (AIGIC) and maintain a prioritised AI Product Roadmap.
  • Run the Arcadia Labs innovation pipeline, turning ideas into adopted, award-worthy workflows.
  • Set BIM standards and advance the Arcadia Visualisation Standard and shared design asset library.
  • Lead GIS and Country mapping partnerships with the First Nations Design Council, with clear IP and data sovereignty governance.
  • Own IT infrastructure, help desk, hardware fleet and MSP governance, automating routine work to cut admin and cost.
  • Replace manual leadership reporting with AI-powered decision support, and launch the national skills matrix with People & Culture.

The expertise you’ll bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT management roles within the architecture or engineering sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing AI solutions and governance frameworks that enhance operational efficiency.
  • A proven track record leading BIM implementation and CDE adoption across large-scale projects.
  • Strategic IT planning and execution within a design context, including business analysis and reporting automation.
  • Experience governing MSP or outsourced IT support relationships, and overseeing help desk operations and hardware fleet lifecycles.
  • Evidenced success managing cross-functional teams, studio-based leads and diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in AI technologies and their applications in design and architecture, plus extensive knowledge of BIM processes and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network security, backup systems and CDE platforms (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud, LucidLink), and familiarity with agile software development practices.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and engage stakeholders at every level.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
