Job Description

About the role

Join the dynamic team at Digital Nomads HQ as a full-time Web Designer based in Mooloolaba, QLD. We’re inviting the best digital designers on the coast to apply for this pivotal role. You will be responsible for the look, feel and user experience of every website we ship, designing high-converting digital experiences in Figma for a portfolio of national brands and local businesses.

What you’ll be doing

  • UI & Web Design: Design polished, modern website interfaces in Figma, from homepage concepts through to full multi-page design systems ready for developer handoff.
  • UX & User Journeys: Map user flows, wireframe page structures and prototype interactions that guide visitors towards enquiry and purchase. Every design decision should have a conversion rationale behind it.
  • Design Systems: Build and maintain scalable component libraries, typography systems and style guides in Figma so our builds stay consistent and efficient across projects.
  • Landing Page & Campaign Design: Design focused landing pages to support paid media and SEO campaigns, working closely with our specialists to hit performance targets.
  • Brand & Visual Design: Translate client brand guidelines into distinctive digital experiences, and produce supporting creative (graphics, banners, ad creative, mockups) where needed.
  • Developer Handoff: Prepare clean, well-organised Figma files with clear specs, annotations and assets so our development team can build exactly what you designed.
  • Client Presentation: Present design concepts and revisions directly to clients, articulate the thinking behind your work, and manage feedback through to sign-off.

Hard Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in web or digital design, ideally within an agency environment managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, components, variables and prototyping.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, responsive design and mobile-first thinking.
  • A sharp eye for typography, layout, colour and visual hierarchy. Your work should look considered, not templated.
  • Working knowledge of how designs translate to the web (WordPress familiarity is a plus, but you won’t be building sites).
  • Understanding of conversion rate optimisation and how design decisions affect performance.
  • A portfolio of live or shipped web design work. We want to see your process, not just the polish.
