Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who has scaled infrastructure in production environments supporting microservices, not just experimented in staging. This role is for someone who has deep hands-on experience managing CI/CD pipelines, understands deployment bottlenecks, and can write infrastructure as code that survives change.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for containerized microservices (primarily in GitLab CI and ArgoCD).
- Manage Kubernetes clusters in production (EKS preferred) and design resource-efficient, auto-scaling deployments.
- Own infrastructure automation (Terraform, Helm) and keep it DRY, modular, and version-controlled.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers on service observability (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry) and deploy strategies (canary, blue/green).
- Improve incident response by refining alerts (no noise), runbooks, and postmortem processes.
- Regularly audit cloud cost drivers and suggest optimizations—don’t wait to be asked.
What You’ll Bring
- You’ve managed production workloads in Kubernetes for at least 2 years.
- You’ve implemented GitOps workflows and understand what can go wrong when environments drift.
- Solid experience with Terraform (not just copy/paste modules), with a clear understanding of state management and remote backends.
- You’ve worked with at least one major cloud provider in-depth (AWS preferred: IAM, ALBs, EKS, VPC, CloudWatch).
- Proficient in scripting (Bash or Python) and not afraid to automate away your least favorite task.
- You’ve handled secrets management securely at scale (e.g., Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
- Experience debugging slow or failing deployments—preferably with war stories.
