Job Description

We’re seeking a DevOps Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment and is obsessed with eliminating toil through automation. This role isn’t about maintaining legacy systems—it’s about building scalable deployment pipelines, taming complex environments, and enabling engineers to ship faster and safer. You’ll play a key part in transforming our CI/CD strategy, enforcing infrastructure standards through code, and owning the observability and reliability of critical systems.

You’ll work closely with backend engineers, SREs, and security teams to establish DevOps best practices tailored to our microservices architecture. We’re not looking for someone who just runs Jenkins jobs—we want someone who can diagnose latency issues in Kubernetes, write custom Terraform modules, and challenge assumptions in a postmortem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage scalable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD across staging, QA, and production environments.
  • Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform (multi-provider modules, reusable configurations).
  • Optimize Kubernetes clusters (GKE) for performance, auto-scaling, and cost-efficiency.
  • Standardize container build processes with Docker and BuildKit, including multi-arch and minimal base images.
  • Implement service mesh (Istio or Linkerd) strategies for traffic routing, observability, and zero-downtime deploys.
  • Drive incident response automation, root cause analysis, and blameless postmortems.
  • Build proactive monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and custom metrics.
  • Work with security engineers to integrate static/dynamic analysis into the pipeline (Snyk, Trivy).
  • Coach engineering teams on best practices for pipeline resilience, secrets management, and container security.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
  • Advanced experience with container orchestration in Kubernetes (Helm, Operators, HPA, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform (including writing and maintaining modules, managing state backends).
  • Experience designing and debugging complex CI/CD workflows (not just YAML skills, but an understanding of the lifecycle).
  • Deep understanding of Linux networking, shell scripting, and system-level debugging.
  • Familiarity with distributed tracing tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Jaeger) and their integration into observability stacks.
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python, Go, or Bash).
  • Experience managing production workloads in at least one major cloud provider (preferably GCP or AWS).
  • Practical knowledge of GitOps workflows, feature flag systems, and progressive delivery patterns (e.g., canary, blue/green).
  • Comfortable participating in on-call rotations and handling production incidents.
