Your New Role
As the Development Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting engineering activities during the pre ‑ contract and design phases of renewable energy projects. Your work will directly influence project feasibility, proposal development and technical delivery, ensuring designs are accurate, commercially viable and compliant with industry standards.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing MW ‑ scale hybrid renewable systems including solar PV, thermal systems and battery energy storage
• Completing detailed solar system designs using PVsyst or similar modelling tools
• Developing BESS designs, sizing, lifecycle analysis and system integration modelling
• Producing technical documentation, specifications, drawings and engineering reports
• Building energy flow, performance and economic models using tools such as HOMER
• Conducting system simulations, load analysis and optimisation studies
• Supporting bid preparation through engineering inputs, cost analysis and proposal documentation
• Reviewing supplier technical information and assisting with supplier qualification
• Contributing to internal governance, compliance requirements and risk assessments

What You’ll Need to Succeed
Your experience in renewable energy engineering and system modelling will lead you to success, along with:

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering or related discipline
• Experience designing solar PV and/or battery energy storage systems
• Proficiency with PVsyst and energy/economic modelling tools (e.g., HOMER)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills for modelling and data analysis
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and develop accurate engineering solutions
• High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
• Confidence managing multiple priorities and meeting project deadlines
