Job Description

The Role

We’re looking for a Design Engineer on Design Systems. This role sits between product design and frontend engineering and you will be accountable for making the system real in code (not just in Figma). You will own the primitives that goes into majority of our designs, such as the shared components, standards, and tooling that ensure our products look and feel consistent.

Your impact

  • Own and evolve our component library (React/Vue), architecting tokens, theming, variants, and accessibility into the foundation of every product surface.
  • Turn design vision into scalable, elegant APIs, crafting intuitive props, composition patterns, and theming systems that feel effortless for product teams to use.
  • Design and scale the system architecture end-to-end – from tokens foundations components patterns, creating a cohesive, future-proof UI ecosystem.
  • Raise the quality bar across the platform, ensuring pixel-perfect fidelity, seamless responsiveness, cross-browser reliability, and polished motion and interactions.
  • Build documentation developers actually love, with clear usage guidance, real examples, migration paths, and a smooth contribution workflow.
  • Drive adoption and stewardship of the system, partnering with teams, managing evolution and deprecations thoughtfully, and preventing UI drift as we scale.

Our Tech Stack (so far)

We leverage a modern, scalable, and developer-friendly technology stack to build robust web applications:

  • Frontend: Vue.js, Nuxt, Typescript
  • Backend: Express.js, Node.js, Typescript, Python
  • Database: MongoDB, PostgreSQL
  • Cloud & Deployment: Vercel, AWS

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years in frontend engineering, with meaningful experience building, scaling, or owning a design system in a complex product environment (SaaS, platform, enterprise tools).
  • Deep expertise in component architecture using modern frameworks (Vue, React, etc.), with strong command of HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and scalable styling strategies.
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining design tokens, theming systems, and reusable component libraries, including accessibility baked in by default.
  • Proven ability to design clean, extensible component APIs (composition patterns, slots, overrides, variant strategies) that balance flexibility with consistency.
  • Experience managing versioning, deprecations, migrations, and system governance across multiple product teams.
  • Strong UI craft bar — obsessive about visual parity, interaction details, responsiveness, and cross-browser reliability.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment while thinking long-term about system scalability and technical debt.
  • Actively leverage AI tools in your workflow to improve speed, documentation quality, refactoring, and system evolution.
