Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer who excels at designing, developing, and optimizing complex database solutions that drive business intelligence and application performance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, a strong understanding of data modeling principles, and hands-on experience with performance tuning and automation of database processes. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, application developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure database architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement efficient, scalable database schemas tailored to application needs and business logic.
  • Develop stored procedures, functions, triggers, and scripts to support application workflows and data integrity.
  • Analyze and optimize query performance, indexing strategies, and database design to meet SLAs.
  • Lead data migration and integration efforts involving heterogeneous systems and diverse data formats.
  • Establish and maintain database security protocols, backup/recovery processes, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex data-related issues and provide expert guidance.
  • Automate repetitive tasks through scripting and implement CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in database development, with a strong track record of delivering robust database solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one major RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of database normalization, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience writing complex stored procedures, triggers, and optimizing execution plans.
  • Familiarity with database version control, migration tools, and automation frameworks (e.g., Liquibase, Flyway).
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate database operations.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and working with BI tools is a plus.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments and collaborating with DevOps teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
