Database Analyst

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage internal and external data feeds to ensure reliable data availability.
• Administer and maintain database platforms and associated schemas to support secure, efficient access to organisational data.
• Provide database performance tuning, automation, scripting and best practice recommendations.
• Plan and implement system upgrades and enhancements to improve service continuity and user experience.
• Develop implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to support operational reliability.
• Partner with vendors and stakeholders to resolve incidents, minimise downtime and support ongoing platform improvements.

Skills and experience:

You’ll bring:

• Demonstrated experience in Database Administration, ideally with 5+ years in a similar role.
• Advanced T-SQL skills and strong SQL Server administration expertise.
• Experience with SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery technologies, including Always On Availability Groups, replication, backup and recovery.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft data technologies, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS and Power BI.
• Experience working with cloud-based database solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure SQL Managed Instance environments.
• Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and modern data integration practices, including ETL and ESB frameworks.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Microsoft certifications will be highly regarded.
