Data Engineer- SQL

Your new role
In this role, you will work with personal safety and the safety of others by following policies and procedures, cooperating with all reasonable instructions and actively participating in all health & safety training and consultation. Ensure business processes, application functions, security, privacy and audit controls comply with internal and external governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities

• Extensive experience in SQL, including writing complex queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data in both cloud and on-premise environments.
• Significant expertise in developing and implementing complex data views to meet specific business requirements, while maintaining data integrity, security, and governance compliance.
• Significant experience in the design, creation, and maintenance of scalable enterprise data pipelines to collect, process, and store data from many varied sources.
• Experience in working with data analyst and business intelligence professional to ensure data is available and transformed to meet requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud based data and analytics software such as Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage.
• Demonstrated experience in use of Azure DevOps and a solid understanding of software development processes, including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Extensive experience with Azure Cloud Platform, including experience with their infrastructure, networking, and security services.
• Strong experience in the use of PySpark notebooks.

What you’ll need to succeed

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Data Science and/or substantial experience working in data engineering or data science roles in a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
• Extensive demonstrated experience in the application of developing SQL queries for data management including extraction, manipulation, and analysis of data.
• Proficient with Azure DevOps and a solid understanding of software development processes, including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in developing and optimising data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage within Azure data lake and Azure SQL.
• Strong analytical problem solving and evaluation skills with the capacity to examine complex problems and develop innovative strategies for their resolution to a diverse client base.
• Strong time management and organisation skills to manage competing priorities, a variety of stakeholder expectations and influence and achieve preferred business outcomes.
