About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable Data Centre Technician to deliver critical data centre initiatives and support the ongoing development of processes, documentation, and tools across our site. In this role, you will work with minimal supervision, proactively identifying high-impact issues, driving improvements, and contributing to the operational excellence of our data centre environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining the security, integrity, and performance of infrastructure, while supporting expansion projects and mentoring other technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and support the implementation of compliance, environmental, and safety programmes, ensuring incidents are investigated and resolved appropriately.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose moderately complex infrastructure and equipment issues, escalating and guiding others as required.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors to support construction and expansion projects, ensuring safety, security, and compliance standards are met.
  • Analyse operational data and trends to identify inefficiencies, recommend improvements, and influence automation and optimisation initiatives.
  • Execute change management initiatives, including communication and adoption of new processes across teams.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on servers, infrastructure, and data centre systems.
  • Support deployment and operation of new infrastructure (e.g., networking, machine learning platforms) and provide technical mentorship.
  • Maintain strict adherence to data security standards, including media handling, tracking, and issue remediation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and act as an escalation point for site and regional issues.
  • Document and implement new processes and operational procedures; facilitate learning sessions across teams.
  • Lead and coordinate equipment decommissioning and end-of-life life cycle activities.
