Customer Development Manager

Job Description

This is a customer-facing, field-based position suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and converting them into profitable business.

Key Responsibilities

·         Grow sales and profitability across existing customer accounts

·         Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities

·         Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and industry stakeholders

·         Prospect for new customers, projects, applications and markets

·         Introduce new products and increase product penetration across existing accounts

·         Conduct regular customer, prospect and relevant site visits

·         Build and manage a strong sales pipeline

·         Achieve agreed sales revenue and gross margin targets

·         Maintain accurate customer activity, opportunities and pipeline information in Salesforce CRM

·         Work collaboratively with Internal Sales, Customer Service and Operations teams

·         Provide market intelligence and identify emerging customer and industry opportunities

About You

You are a results-driven B2B sales professional who is equally comfortable developing existing relationships and creating new ones.

·         Proven experience in B2B sales, account management and business development

·         A track record of achieving sales and margin targets

·         Strong relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills

·         Confidence and persistence in prospecting and developing new business

·         Strong commercial awareness and customer focus

·         Excellent organisation, planning and time-management skills

·         Experience using CRM systems to manage customer activity and sales pipelines; Salesforce experience is highly regarded

·         A proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach

·         The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a broader team

Experience in roofing, building products, construction, plastics fabrication, signage, print, shopfitting or other technical B2B industries will be highly regarded.
