Computer Network Architect

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Computer Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of our enterprise network infrastructure, which supports hybrid cloud services, remote collaboration across multiple global offices, and zero-trust security frameworks. This role goes beyond traditional network planning—it’s about strategically building scalable, software-defined networks that anticipate data growth, support container orchestration, and enable agile business operations.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with enterprise WAN/LAN design, SD-WAN implementations, and cloud-based networking (Azure and AWS). They are fluent in BGP/OSPF routing but also think like a systems architect—anticipating network bottlenecks, factoring in compliance (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS), and designing around both user experience and security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and optimize high-availability network architectures supporting over 10,000 endpoints across cloud, on-prem, and remote environments.
• Lead the implementation of software-defined networking (SDN) strategies, integrating tools like Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, or Azure Virtual WAN.
• Engineer and manage interconnectivity between hybrid multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, and GCP).
• Create network segmentation strategies aligned with zero-trust principles and NIST 800-207 guidelines.
• Collaborate with DevOps to ensure networking supports CI/CD pipelines, container clusters (Kubernetes), and scalable microservices.
• Conduct network modeling and performance analysis for bandwidth forecasting, latency mitigation, and route optimization.
• Write detailed architecture documentation and lead cross-functional design reviews.
• Contribute to incident response planning by integrating intelligent network telemetry and visibility tools (e.g., NetFlow, Wireshark, ThousandEyes).
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies including intent-based networking, SASE platforms, and network automation via Ansible or Terraform.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and securing enterprise-grade networks, including data center, cloud, and SD-WAN environments.
• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, IPsec, and routing/switching architectures.
• Proven experience integrating cloud-native networking components (e.g., Azure VNets, AWS Transit Gateway, VPN Gateways, Network Security Groups).
• Hands-on experience with network automation and infrastructure as code (Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
• Strong familiarity with network security frameworks, including microsegmentation and zero-trust principles.
• Certification in CCNP/CCIE, AWS Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer Associate strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architectural decisions and communicate technical trade-offs with stakeholders at various levels.
