Cloud Systems Engineer

Job Description

We’re looking for a hands-on Cloud & Systems Engineer to join a high-performing infrastructure team supporting complex enterprise environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across virtualisation, storage, backup, and disaster recovery, while ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and highly available.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage and maintain virtualised environments, including provisioning, upgrades, performance tuning, and issue resolution
• Oversee backup and recovery processes, ensuring reliability through regular testing and optimisation
• Support and enhance disaster recovery and replication capabilities, including failover readiness
• Work across enterprise storage solutions, handling capacity planning, provisioning, and performance improvements
• Assist with data centre operations, including coordination, hardware awareness, and incident response
• Partner with internal teams to maintain platform resilience and ensure seamless service delivery

What You’ll Bring

• Strong experience working with virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware environments)
• Hands-on exposure to backup and recovery tools such as Veeam, NetBackup, or similar
• Solid understanding of disaster recovery principles and replication strategies
• Experience managing enterprise storage platforms (SAN/NAS environments)
• Familiarity with infrastructure ecosystems across compute, storage, and networking
• Exposure to enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions (Dell or similar vendors is a plus)

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Background working in on-premise or hybrid data centre environments
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and IT service management platforms
