Cloud Engineer

Job Description

The role:

As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing, supporting and continuously improving Symal’s Microsoft cloud environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring secure, stable and high-performing cloud services across Microsoft 365 and Azure, enabling the business to operate efficiently and securely.

Working within the wider IT team, you’ll collaborate closely with architecture, operations, and service teams to optimise cloud platforms, automate processes and uplift security and compliance standards.

Your everyday:

• Manage and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive and Intune.
• Administer and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage and monitoring solutions.
• Implement and manage security and compliance controls across Microsoft 365 and Azure, including MFA, Conditional Access, Defender and Purview.
• Monitor system performance, availability and security alerts, responding to incidents and ensuring remediation within agreed SLAs.
• Automate administrative tasks and reporting using PowerShell and support continuous improvement initiatives across the cloud environment.
