Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer who thrives in complex, multi-cloud environments and has a proven track record of building secure, scalable infrastructure-as-code solutions. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native architectures, with a strong emphasis on automation, observability, and security. This role requires direct collaboration with software engineers, security, and product teams to drive infrastructure excellence from development to production.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily in AWS and GCP, with occasional use of Azure.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar, focusing on testable and repeatable deployments.
- Own and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS, GKE), including custom controllers, autoscaling strategies, and hardened configurations.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform (v1.3+), including modular design, testing with Terratest or equivalent, and state management practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot distributed systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/OpenTelemetry stacks.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to define SLIs/SLOs and improve system reliability.
- Lead incident response efforts, contributing to root cause analysis and postmortems with a blameless culture.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across cloud services, storage, and compute layers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience with production systems.
- Deep understanding of AWS IAM, VPC networking, EC2 lifecycle, and container services.
- Demonstrated expertise in writing production-grade Terraform and Helm charts.
- Hands-on experience with Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python, or Go preferred).
- Experience implementing zero-trust networking, role-based access controls, and infrastructure-level security policies.
- Solid knowledge of Kubernetes internals, such as control plane behavior, CRDs, and custom schedulers.
- Proven track record of implementing observability and alerting strategies that avoid noise fatigue.
- Comfortable conducting peer reviews of infrastructure code, contributing to internal tooling, and mentoring junior engineers.
