Job Description

We’re seeking a hands-on Cloud Architect who can design and implement cloud-native solutions with a strong understanding of distributed systems, cost optimization, and platform resilience. This role goes beyond simply “moving to the cloud”—you’ll be responsible for building a scalable multi-cloud strategy, defining architectural guardrails, and leading platform-wide modernization efforts. You will work closely with DevOps, SREs, security teams, and engineering leads to ensure our systems are fault-tolerant, observable, and efficient.

If you’ve led Kubernetes platform design across hybrid clouds, containerized legacy services into microservices, and turned ambiguous requirements into repeatable cloud reference architectures, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with resilience, observability, and cost-efficiency as core principles.
  • Define and maintain cloud reference architectures, CI/CD patterns, and workload placement strategies across public and private environments.
  • Partner with security and compliance to integrate policy-as-code, IAM federation, and data residency controls at the architectural level.
  • Lead migration strategies, including decomposing legacy monoliths and implementing event-driven or service-mesh-based architectures.
  • Standardize infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK with environment-level abstractions.
  • Establish platform-wide monitoring, telemetry, and incident response capabilities via tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog.
  • Conduct architectural reviews, threat modeling, and failure injection testing to validate assumptions and increase system resilience.
  • Act as a technical mentor across teams, translating architectural vision into team-level deliverables and sprint goals.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or cloud engineering, with at least 3 in a cloud architecture role.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying production-grade systems in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, cluster provisioning, and custom controllers or CRDs.
  • Fluency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Pulumi) and GitOps workflows.
  • Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments, including network topology, VPN/GW architecture, and workload orchestration.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native patterns: service mesh, sidecar proxies, event streams (Kafka, Pub/Sub), etc.
  • Experience implementing zero-trust architectures, policy-as-code (OPA, Sentinel), and scalable secrets management.

Preferred:

  • Prior work in regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS).
  • Familiarity with cloud financial operations (FinOps) and workload right-sizing tools.
  • Experience designing DR strategies across availability zones, regions, or providers.
  • Strong scripting or programming background in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
  • Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Pro, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus but not required.

You’ll Thrive Here If You:

  • Are able to communicate complex architectural tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Treat cloud as a platform, not just infrastructure.
  • See automation as a first principle, not an afterthought.
  • Care deeply about developer experience, security, and systems that fail gracefully.
