Job Description

We’re looking for a Cloud Architect who doesn’t just deploy systems in the cloud but reshapes how infrastructure is designed, secured, and scaled for modern applications. This is not a checkbox role — we want someone who thinks strategically but can also drop into Terraform or Kubernetes YAML without hesitation. You’ll be the principal voice behind how we leverage AWS, GCP, and hybrid cloud environments, with a focus on optimizing cost, resilience, and automation across our growing suite of customer-facing products. You’ll partner with Engineering, Security, and Product teams to drive cloud-native best practices — from CI/CD pipelines and service mesh implementation to incident observability and zero-trust architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve multi-cloud architectures (primarily AWS and GCP) that scale across regions and services with high availability and disaster recovery baked in
  • Lead the cloud infrastructure roadmap, including Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), VPC design, workload segregation, IAM strategy, and infrastructure as code
  • Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines integrated with GitOps practices (ArgoCD or Flux preferred)
  • Collaborate with InfoSec to implement zero-trust network architectures and manage cloud-native security posture (e.g., AWS Security Hub, GCP SCC)
  • Analyze cost telemetry and implement controls or re-architecture proposals to keep cloud spend predictable and efficient
  • Guide developers on service deployment, containerization, and cloud-optimized design patterns
  • Architect logging, metrics, and tracing infrastructure (e.g., Loki, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) for production observability
  • Act as a thought partner during incident retrospectives and architecture reviews

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, with at least 3 in a cloud architect or principal-level role
  • Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation or Terraform), with working knowledge of GCP
  • Strong background in Kubernetes architecture, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), and managing cluster lifecycle in production
  • Demonstrated success leading architecture design for mission-critical systems in regulated or high-availability environments
  • Expert-level skills in Terraform, Helm, and GitOps practices (ArgoCD or Flux)
  • Working knowledge of cloud-native security design (e.g., workload identity, KMS, hardened AMIs, audit logging)
  • Experience architecting observability stacks from first principles
  • Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to present to both technical and executive audiences

Nice to Have:

  • AWS/GCP professional-level certifications
  • Experience with hybrid or on-prem + cloud bridging (e.g., VPN, Direct Connect, Anthos)
  • Familiarity with secrets management tools like HashiCorp Vault or AWS Secrets Manager
  • Past experience mentoring DevOps/SRE teams or establishing platform engineering standards
