CAD Designer 

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D CAD models based on sketches, images, references, dimensions, or concepts.
• Develop manufacturing-ready designs for production.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Create assemblies, exploded views, and component drawings when required.
• Ensure proper tolerances, wall thicknesses, clearances, and manufacturability.
• Modify and optimize existing CAD files.
• Collaborate with our design and visualization team throughout the product development process.

Deliverables

• STEP (.STEP / .STP) files
• Native CAD source files
• Manufacturing drawings (PDF/DWG)
• Assembly drawings
• Exploded views (when required)
• Technical documentation for production

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
• Injection Molding
• CNC Machining
• Sheet Metal Fabrication
• Wood Manufacturing
• 3D Printing
• Metal Fabrication
• Ability to create production-ready designs, not just concept models.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and engineering standards.
• Experience preparing files for manufacturing and prototyping.

Software Experience (One or More)

• SolidWorks
• Fusion 360
• Autodesk Inventor
• Creo
• Siemens NX
• Rhino
• Onshape
• Other professional CAD software

Preferred Experience

• Consumer products
• Furniture and home products
• Industrial equipment
• Mechanical assemblies
• Packaging products
• Electronics enclosures
• Product customization systems
