Job Description
We’re seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst who isn’t just fluent in dashboards and data models, but who thrives in decoding operational blind spots, shaping strategic initiatives, and guiding executive decisions. You’ll be at the center of our transformation into a data-first organization, serving as the connective tissue between raw data, business functions, and meaningful action. This role requires sharp critical thinking, domain fluency in business operations, and the ability to challenge assumptions with data-backed insight.
You won’t just generate reports — you’ll uncover inefficiencies in our customer funnel, forecast operational risks, dissect pricing models, and surface untapped revenue opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, sales leadership, and finance teams to deliver proactive intelligence and ensure that every business decision is informed, not reactive.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable data models in SQL and Looker to support KPIs across departments (marketing, sales, product, operations).
- Partner with stakeholders to understand operational pain points and translate them into data-driven hypotheses and testable metrics.
- Design and iterate on self-serve dashboards with layered contextual insights — not just charts.
- Lead analytical deep dives into acquisition cost fluctuations, churn risk signals, and engagement trends.
- Detect anomalies and surface early-warning signals in business performance before they hit the bottom line.
- Support quarterly and annual planning cycles with scenario modeling, data-backed assumptions, and sensitivity analyses.
- Translate complex data into executive-ready narratives using visual storytelling and clear documentation.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5 years in a BI, data strategy, or analytics role within a product-led or operations-heavy organization.
- Expert SQL skills — you can build efficient CTEs, window functions, and pivot-level logic from scratch.
- Experience working with Looker, Tableau, or similar BI tools with the ability to architect semantic layers.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-impact data visualizations that lead to clear business actions.
- Familiarity with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) and marketing attribution data structures.
- Strong business acumen — you should understand how SaaS metrics, CAC, LTV, and funnel conversions play together.
- Excellent communication skills — capable of working across teams to deliver clarity, not just numbers.
Preferred:
- Experience working in fast-paced environments (startup, consultancy, or hyper-growth business units).
- Exposure to Python or R for ad hoc analysis or automation tasks.
- Background in finance, economics, business strategy, or applied statistics.
