Back End Developer
Job Description
About the role
You’ll be responsible for designing and developing scalable backend services using Python, building cloud-native applications with Azure Functions and creating robust APIs that integrate with enterprise systems and Databricks. You’ll play a key role in building reusable services, implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and delivering automated CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps. This is a collaborative role where you’ll work closely with both technical and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable and maintainable solutions while contributing to the organisation’s growing AI and automation capabilities.
What you’ll bring
- Strong commercial experience developing production-grade applications in Python.
- Experience building REST APIs using FastAPI, Pydantic or similar frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Functions and Azure Service Bus.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and system integrations.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline experience.
- Exposure to Databricks or modern cloud data platforms.
- Strong understanding of automated testing, monitoring and observability.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working within Agile Scrum teams.
