Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for an Art Director who sees visual storytelling as a language, not just decoration. You’ll lead concept-driven campaigns, branded content, and design systems with a strategic eye and hands-on execution. This is not a role for someone who delegates and disappears — we want a builder, a critic, and a collaborator who’s equally comfortable in a pitch room, behind a camera, or deep in Figma.
You’ll work alongside writers, marketers, product designers, motion artists, and external agencies. You will define the visual direction for multi-platform campaigns, including digital, out-of-home, social, packaging, and environmental design — and then make sure it gets executed with clarity and craft.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute campaign concepts that align with business strategy, user insight, and cultural relevance — not just trend-chasing.
- Lead creative from the idea phase through production: pitch, mood board, direct, edit, deliver.
- Partner with copywriters to craft narratives where visual and verbal work in tandem — we don’t separate the two.
- Build and evolve brand guidelines, not as a static PDF, but as a living system.
- Direct photo and video shoots (pre-pro to post), including selecting photographers, stylists, and post teams.
- Ensure quality across deliverables — from typography and layout to art production and asset hand-off.
- Mentor junior designers and freelancers with actionable feedback and strategic clarity.
- Work closely with marketing, product, and experiential teams to translate complex ideas into arresting visuals.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in visual design, art direction, or a related creative discipline, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
- A portfolio that shows a clear creative point of view, breadth of visual style, and examples of 360° thinking (campaigns, not just single touchpoints).
- Demonstrated experience directing shoots and working across media (static, motion, digital, physical).
- Strong typography and layout skills — we care about the details.
- Proven ability to push creative boundaries while remaining rooted in strategic objectives.
- Comfortable working under ambiguity and taking initiative without needing a perfect brief.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Bonus if you’re familiar with motion or 3D tools.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience designing for or collaborating with product/UI teams.
- Background in editorial, fashion, or cultural content a plus.
- Ability to write or edit — even if just headlines or video treatments.
