Application Developer (Java)

Job Description

This is a hands-on contract role suited to developers with strong enterprise Java capability who are comfortable across analysis, build, testing, deployment, support and ongoing system maintenance.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance enterprise applications in Java
• Perform systems analysis across new and existing applications
• Build solutions aligned to established standards and practices
• Contribute to code quality, testing and continuous integration practices
• Resolve application support issues across custom-built systems
• Provide maintenance and support advice
• Perform regular system maintenance tasks
• Support knowledge transfer and collaborative development across the team

Key Technical Experience

• Enterprise Java development, ideally Java 17 or 21
• JSF and exposure to PrimeFaces or similar component libraries
• HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
• Spring 5.x including Spring Security
• Hibernate / JPA
• Maven
• JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock
• Selenium or broader web testing principles
• Git and Bitbucket
• Jira and Confluence
• Oracle SQL / PL/SQL
• TomEE / Tomcat
• Deployment and maintenance across Unix and/or Windows hosted solutions
