About the Role

An exciting on-going opportunity is available for an analyst in the Workforce, Policy and Strategy Division. You will join a small and well-supported team that undertakes deep data analysis to support strategic decision-making in a dynamic environment.

You will use your analytical skills to interpret complex datasets and convert findings into insights. You will prepare data, research, analyse, and draft to reports, briefs and presentations.

In this role, you will:

  • Generate descriptive statistics and relevant data visualisation under the guidance of subject matter experts.
  • Considering the potential impact of data collection and data sources on analyses.
  • Utilise advanced excel formulas, pivot tables and generation of data charts, as required.
  • Communicate data insights in reports, slide decks, briefs and correspondence.
  • Resolve data issues using existing guidelines. Where guidelines are not available, act independently and in consultation with others to resolve problems.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solve independently and in consultation with others.

Your attributes include:

  • Experience with quantitative analysis and/or modelling, identifying ways to interrogate problems using data and analytical methods, and understanding and communicating the strengths and limitations of analysis
  • An ability to develop conceptual policy analysis using analytical frameworks. Being able to draw on experiences and lessons from other sectors to distil complexity.
  • The ability to communicate work on complex ideas to a range of senior stakeholders, and exercising good judgment in handling sensitive information
