Job Description

Responsibilities

Development

• Write production code using AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as your primary daily workflow.
• Own frontend (React, React Native) and backend API layers end-to-end.
• Generate and maintain test suites, boilerplate and API documentation.
• Code-review external and vendor deliverables before merge.

AI & Machine Learning Engineering

• Build and deploy predictive models — classification, regression, anomaly detection, segmentation.
• Own the full ML lifecycle: data prep, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment and retraining.
• Integrate LLM APIs (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or on-prem Ollama) into client-facing and internal products.
• Build AI agents and automation pipelines for client workflows.

Automation & Internal Tooling

• Automate repetitive operational workflows — reconciliation, reporting, document processing.
• Build operational dashboards for client leadership: KPIs, alerts and business-health monitoring.
• Build intelligent document-processing pipelines (OCR, extraction, classification).
• Set up alert and notification pipelines for threshold breaches and anomalies.

Data Engineering (light)

• Ingest data from APIs, flat files and databases into an analytics warehouse.
• Write and maintain transformation models (dbt or equivalent) for reporting and ML feature layers.
• Write clean, optimised SQL for analytics, reporting and model features.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

•  Maintain living architecture and API documentation throughout the engagement.
• Write runbooks and handover guides for client operations teams.
• Ensure no single-point-of-knowledge dependency by the end of the project.

Job Requirements

Must-have

• AI-assisted development (Cursor or equivalent) as your daily workflow — non-negotiable.
• Python (pandas, scikit-learn, LightGBM / XGBoost).
• TypeScript / JavaScript — React or React Native in production.
• REST API design and third-party integration experience.
• 2+ years of engineering experience (quality over years).
• A portfolio of shipped products — not just side projects or tutorials.

Nice-to-have

• Fintech, telco or other regulated-industry background.
• LLM API integration (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic).
• dbt, ClickHouse, Supabase or a similar modern data stack.
• Kotlin or any JVM backend language.
• MLOps: model deployment, monitoring, drift detection.
• AI agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex or equivalent).
• Able to start work immediately.
