AI-Native Full Stack Developer

About the Role 

We’re looking for an AI-Native Full Stack Developer who doesn’t just use AI tools — they think in them. This is not a role for someone who occasionally asks ChatGPT for a snippet. We want an engineer for whom Claude Code, Cursor, and AI-assisted workflows are core to how they ship software every single day. 

You’ll be joining our Burleigh Head steam, building product features from frontend to backend, and you’ll be expected to move fast — because AI lets you. If you can leverage AI to do the work of three engineers without cutting corners on quality, this is your kind of role. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, build, and ship full stack features across frontend and backend using AI-assisted development workflows 
• Use Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent tools as a primary part of your daily engineering workflow — not as an afterthought 
• Write and review AI-generated code critically, ensuring quality, security, and maintainability 
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences 
• Architect scalable solutions and make sound technical decisions with speed as a first-class concern 
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and team knowledge sharing 
• Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI tooling landscape and champion adoption of tools that genuinely improve output 
• Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives on-site 

What You’ll Bring 

AI Tooling (Essential) 

• Hands-on, daily experience with Claude Code and/or Cursor as development tools 
• Demonstrated ability to use AI to accelerate feature delivery without sacrificing code quality 
• Experience prompting, iterating, and critically reviewing AI-generated code at pace 
• Familiarity with other AI-assisted dev tools (GitHub Copilot, Cody, Tabnine, etc.) is a plus 

Full Stack Engineering 

• Strong proficiency across the full stack — comfortable switching between frontend and backend in the same sprint 
• Modern frontend experience: React, Next.js, TypeScript, or similar frameworks 
• Solid backend skills: Node.js, Python, Go, or equivalent — REST APIs, GraphQL, database design 
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines 
• Understanding of security best practices, performance optimisation, and scalable architecture
