Job Description

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks, maintain the general ledger, complete month-end close, and prepare accurate profit-and-loss statements and balance sheets.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile vendor statements, investigate invoice discrepancies, and provide payroll support.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, cash deposits, and point-of-sale settlements; investigate and resolve differences.
• Reconcile inventory records and analyze product costs, cost of goods sold, gross margins, inventory losses, and store-level performance.
• Prepare useful weekly and monthly reports, cash-flow updates, and Excel-based KPI dashboards for management.
• Independently identify accounting errors, document findings, improve existing processes, and follow issues through to resolution.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including responsibility for reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Excellent QuickBooks skills and advanced Excel proficiency, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP or equivalent lookup functions, Power Query, and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and gross-margin analysis.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional qualifications and relevant experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English, strong organization, sound judgment, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to work independently
