Project Engineer

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Costing and quoting on new project opportunities.
• Review contracts and negotiate to ensure contractual risk are minimised or mitigated.
• Interpret contract requirements, terms and conditions and ensure that all parties understand and deliver on their responsibilities.
• Manages documents (internal & external).
• Checks compliance and quality of documents.
• Ensure that product quality is maintained or improved.
• Ensure that projects remain within the allocated budget and timeframe.
• Report on contract performance against KPIs and requirements.
• Assess and prepare contract variations and exemption requests.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure open communication channels.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve routine contractual issues and escalate more complex issues.
• Assist with the management and develop client’s supplier relationships.

KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• A Civil Engineering Degree (or similar) or relevant industry experience.
• Excellent communication skills – ability to consult, negotiate, and manage relationships with stakeholders, clients and contractors.
• Demonstrate the ability to interpret civil/mechanical drawings to an advanced level.
• Good analytical, research and evaluation skills, with the ability to provide solutions to problems and issues.
• Professional presentation.
