About the role
You’ll manage a substantial portfolio of business clients, acting as a key point of contact across their ongoing relationship.
The role combines proactive phone-based account management with face-to-face engagement and will see you working closely with customers to understand their business, payment behaviour and commercial goals.
You’ll be expected to build strong relationships, drive retention, identify growth opportunities and ensure customers are getting maximum value from the products and services available to them.
What you’ll be doing
- Own and grow a large portfolio of business accounts
- Build strong relationships with business owners, finance teams and senior stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to increase customer spend, engagement and product utilisation
- Drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities across your portfolio
- Understand customers’ payment, cash-flow and operational requirements
- Develop account strategies for higher-value customers
- Monitor account activity, performance and key commercial metrics
- Conduct proactive customer calls and face-to-face meetings
- Partner closely with sales, product, operations and customer support teams
- Act as a trusted commercial advisor to your customers
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in Account Management, Relationship Management, Customer Success or Sales
- Strong commercial instincts with experience growing existing customer accounts
- Experience in payments, cards, fintech, banking, loyalty, rewards, expense management or financial services is highly desirable
- Exposure to merchant services, corporate cards, payment platforms or transaction-based products would be particularly relevant
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to build rapport quickly with a broad range of stakeholders
- Comfortable managing a high-volume customer portfolio
- Strong CRM capability and confidence working with account data and KPIs
- Proactive, organised and commercially driven
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
