Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join their growing technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting their computer networks, systems infrastructure and associated technologies. The role involves ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and availability of network and system environments that support the business’s operations and technology projects.

The annual salary for this full-time position is $85,000 to $95,000 plus superannuation. Responsibilities include:

• Design, configure, implement and maintain computer networks and systems infrastructure.
• Install and configure network hardware, servers, routers, switches, firewalls and related systems.
• Monitor network and system performance and identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
• Troubleshoot network, server and infrastructure-related technical problems.
• Configure and maintain Local

Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Virtual Private Network (VPN) and internet connectivity.

• Implement and maintain network security, access controls, firewalls and system security measures.
• Perform system and network upgrades, patches, backups and maintenance.
• Monitor system availability, capacity and network performance.
• Diagnose hardware, software and network faults and provide appropriate technical solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration records and operational procedures.
• Assist with cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Work with software, infrastructure and project teams to support deployment and integration requirements.
• Recommend improvements to network architecture, system performance, reliability and security.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering or a related discipline.
• Should possess relevant professional experience in computer networks and systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), LAN/WAN, VPN, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and network protocols.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and network security technologies.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience in network monitoring, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, access controls, backup and disaster recovery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
