Your new role
As a member of the senior leadership team, you will:
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across finance, procurement, IT and information management.
- Drive long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
- Provide strategic advice to Council, Executive Leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee.
- Oversee annual financial statements, rates, assets, payroll and statutory reporting.
- Improve procurement strategies, frameworks and value-for-money outcomes.
- Support technology modernisation initiatives and cybersecurity governance.
- Develop and implement effective records and information management strategies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and customer-focused service delivery.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CA or CPA qualification (or near completion).
- Ideally, experience within Local Government or NFP sectors
- Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting and strategic planning.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial analysis capability.
- Experience leading teams and driving organisational improvement.
- High-level stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capabilities, including exposure to BI reporting tools such as Power BI.
- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on governance, accountability and outcomes.
