About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Web Developer / Web Programmer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing our e-commerce website and related web applications that support online sales, customer engagement and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain the company’s e-commerce website and associated web applications.
• Develop and implement new website functionality, features and user interfaces to improve customer experience.
• Maintain online product catalogues, customer account systems, shopping cart functionality and secure payment gateways.
• Develop and manage integrations between the website, inventory systems, customer databases and online ordering platforms.
• Optimise website performance, scalability, security and mobile responsiveness.
• Conduct website testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation.
• Develop custom solutions to support online enquiries, appointment bookings and bespoke jewellery consultation requests.
• Monitor website analytics and implement technical improvements to maximise website traffic and online sales conversions.
• Ensure compliance with web security standards and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Collaborate with management and marketing staff to identify and implement digital business initiatives.
• Research and implement emerging web technologies and e-commerce solutions to enhance the company’s online presence.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Software Development, Web Development, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Web Developer, Web Programmer, Developer Programmer or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience with:
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • PHP, Java or similar programming languages
  • WordPress, WooCommerce or other e-commerce platforms
  • Database management (MySQL, SQL Server or similar)
  • API integration and web services
  • Responsive web design principles
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Experience working with retail, e-commerce or online marketplace environments.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and website optimisation.
• Experience with payment gateways, inventory integration and CRM systems.
