Backend Software Engineer 

Job Description

The Role

In this role, the successful candidate will work directly with the founder to accelerate the evolution of systems originally built in-house, with a focus on scaling backend infrastructure and delivering critical features that support front-line recruiting teams.

Requirements

– 6+ years of backend engineering experience (with production-grade systems)

– Strong expertise in Python and Django

– Experience building applications that leverage GenAI APIs (e.g. OpenRouter, OpenAI, etc.)

– Uses Cursor/Claude by default and has built strong workflows to balance quality with productivity

– Strong communication skills and ability to work across time zones

– Experience working independently in a remote-first environment

Bonus Points

– Background in a high-growth startup environment

– Experience mentoring or helping other engineers grow

– Familiarity with implementing testing frameworks to ensure code quality

– Full-stack development experience in addition to backend expertise
