Power BI Developer / Data Analyst

Job Description

The role will support business reporting, dashboard development, data analysis and data quality improvements. Working closely with the Head of Data, you will clarify requirements, validate data logic and deliver accurate, user-friendly reporting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models and datasets.
• Work with the Head of Data to clarify reporting requirements, business logic and priorities.
• Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data.
• Build and maintain DAX measures, Power Query transformations and Power BI data models.
• Investigate data quality issues, validate source data and reconcile report outputs.
• Improve existing reports for layout, performance, usability and accuracy.
• Document report logic, data definitions, calculations and technical processes.
• Support ad hoc data analysis, reporting automation and routine operational data tasks as required.

 Skills and experience

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including report development, data modelling, DAX and Power Query.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, aggregations, data validation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret requirements and convert them into practical reporting solutions.
• High attention to detail, particularly around data accuracy, reconciliation and calculation logic.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain findings to technical and semi-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks and follow agreed priorities.

 Desirable experience

• Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms, such as Snowflake.
• Experience with Power BI Service, scheduled refresh, workspace management, row-level security and deployment processes.
• Understanding of report documentation, data lineage and source-to-report validation.
• Willingness to work in an AI-enabled data environment and adopt AI-assisted ways of working
