Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

About the Engagement Working as part of a consulting team, you will:

• Discover and document the current SQL Server estate and supporting Microsoft technologies
• Review database operations, SQL Agent jobs, maintenance plans, backups, security, and operational processes
• Capture critical technical knowledge from SMEs
• Identify undocumented dependencies, operational risks, and single-person knowledge areas
• Produce clear technical documentation and current-state artefacts
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders

This engagement is focused on discovery, documentation and operational assessment rather than implementing solutions or database development.
About You We’re looking for someone who brings:

• Approximately 10+ years’ experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Strong SQL Server operational administration experience across production environments
• Experience with SQL Server Agent, backup and recovery, security, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and Microsoft infrastructure
• Excellent documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to quickly understand complex technical environments and ask the right questions
