Back-End Developer
Job Description
As a Back-End Developer, you’ll be responsible for guiding and leading the architecture, delivery and development of the software systems that power our business unit. A hands-on, highly skilled software developer with the experience to dive into code to deliver high quality, well-designed software. You will share responsibility for the quality of the software being built, including but not limited to; achieving desired business outcomes, meeting reliability and performance expectations and safely managing security and data privacy concerns.
You’ll have:
- 3+ years in a hands-on Software Engineering role
- Experience building high‑traffic backend applications
- Working experience with back-end technologies (i.e Java, Spring / Spring Boot) and databases (e.g PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, etc)
- Understanding of cloud‑native development on platforms such as AWS, including deployment, scaling, and operational considerations
- Containerisation technology concepts, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions), version control (Git), and automated testing practices
- Experience using observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Splunk, Datadog, or similar) to support production systems
- A real passion for quality, clean code and continuous improvement
- An understanding of architectural concepts and cloud-based solution design
- Highly dedicated ethos – expected to take very real accountability for the work you’re doing
- A test and learn mindset with curiosity, collaboration and care
- Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Edge Delivery Services desirable
