IT Technician

Job Description

Job Purpose:

The IT Technician is a critical member of the WV Technologies operations team, responsible for processing a wide range of ICT assets with the highest standards of security and accuracy. This role ensures complete and efficient data sanitisation, accurate asset auditing, and logistical support through secure transportation and collection activities.Responsibilities

• Manual handling of IT assets, including loading and unloading job lots (ranging from small to large quantities).
• Receiving and sorting assets using Makor or equivalent asset tracking software.
• Data sanitisation using Blancco or equivalent software; basic troubleshooting to enable wipe processes.
• Accurate data entry and asset inventorying with 100% accuracy target.
• Auditing assets for specifications, functionality, and cosmetic condition.
• Performing quality checks and ensuring zero data breaches during processing.
• Secure physical destruction of data‑bearing devices (e.g., hard drives, mobile phones).
• Processing enterprise‑level hardware (e.g., servers, switches) to ensure complete data erasure.
• Secure and safe collection of assets from clients.
• Any other reasonable duties as seen fit by the employer to fulfil the role.

Knowledge and Skills

• Baseline or NV1 clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Valid Manual Driver Licence is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Cert III in Information Technology or higher is desirable.
