Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily production activities to ensure targets are met according to the schedule.
  • Manage and mentor the entire NCT team, including NCT Technicians / Operators, Polishing / Flattening staff, and the Welding / Riveting crew.
  • Coordinate the flow of materials through sequential operations – ensuring that parts from Turret Punching and Laser Cutting move efficiently to Flattening, Polishing, and finally to Welding or Riveting.
  • Manage manpower distribution across multiple manufacturing processes to meet the daily production targets set by the PMC department.
  • Oversee Turret Punching and Laser Cutting operations (primarily TRUMPF or similar). Optimize tool selection, turret layouts, and hit sequences to maximize speed and minimize tool wear.
  • Set technical standards and quality benchmarks for Flattening (stress relief), Polishing (surface finish), and Welding / Riveting (structural integrity).
  • Resolve complex technical issues, such as sheet metal warping during punching, welding distortion, or riveting misalignments.
  • Ensure parts meet aesthetic requirements after polishing and structural requirements after welding / riveting.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing to reduce material scrap (Nesting optimization) and minimize “bottlenecks” between the punching and joining stages.
  • Collaborate with PIE (Process Improvement Engineering) to provide feedback on sheet metal design, focusing on punching feasibility and welding accessibility.

Requirements:

  • Minimum in Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering. 
  • At least 10 years of experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory or leadership role. 
  • Possess strong knowledge of NCT Turret Punching and Laser Cutting (programming and tooling).
  • Proficient in sheet metal joining techniques (TIG/MIG/Spot Welding and Auto-Riveting).
  • Familiar with surface finishing (Polishing) and precision flattening equipment.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM for sheet metal (e.g., AP100, Dr. ABE, or equivalent nesting software).
  • Strong leadership presence, excellent analytical problem-solving abilities, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and GD&T.
