System Administrator

Job Description

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys working close to the infrastructure layer, including physical hardware, virtualization, Linux systems, automation, and reliability engineering. 

What you’ll be doing 

• Managing and maintaining our physical and virtual server infrastructure throughout its lifecycle  
• Operating and improving virtualization and container platforms  
• Working closely with DevOps and development teams to provide reliable environments for development, testing, and production systems  
• Ensuring infrastructure reliability, availability, performance, and security  
• Designing, implementing, and regularly verifying backup and recovery processes  
• Building and maintaining monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions  
• Automating repetitive operational tasks and improving infrastructure scalability  
• Troubleshooting infrastructure, system, and performance issues across different layers  
• Participating in infrastructure planning, capacity management, and future architecture decisions  
• Maintaining infrastructure security, patching, and access management practices 
• Supporting internal services and environments used for development, testing, and production workloads  
• Contributing to documentation, operational standards, and best practices  
• Staying open to new technologies and helping evaluate future infrastructure directions, including cloud-based solutions  

What we’re looking for 

• Strong experience with Linux system administration in production environments  
• Experience with virtualization platforms and infrastructure management  
• Good understanding of server hardware, storage, and networking fundamentals  
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management  
• Familiarity with containers and modern deployment workflows  
• Experience with IaaC and CI/CD environments 
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and centralized logging solutions  
• Understanding of infrastructure reliability, backup strategies, and disaster recovery principles  
• Comfortable working in a growing environment where processes and infrastructure evolve continuously  
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and proactively improve systems
