Software Developer

Job Description

As a full‑stack developer, you’ll primarily work on backend-focused features involving system integrations. This includes connecting our SaaS solution with internal systems using APIs and event-driven communication, while still contributing to the frontend when needed.

In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:

• Building and maintaining high‑quality, well‑tested code across frontend and backend, with code reviews;
• Developing and contributing to the design of reliable, high‑performance applications, including services, APIs, and user‑facing components;
• Owning end‑to‑end feature development, from design and implementation to deployment and production support;
• Designing, developing, and supporting integration services, REST APIs, and event‑driven flows using Kafka;
• Working with existing monolithic and legacy solutions, supporting their integration and gradual evolution;
• Collaborating closely with developers, architects, product roles, and our SaaS vendor to deliver features end‑to‑end;
• Taking ownership of your services, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution;
• Contributing to improving our technical standards, ways of working, and system design.
  
  

What is needed in this role:

• A proactive and analytical mindset, with attention to detail and a sense of responsibility;
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the team;
• Comfortable taking responsibility for delivering features to production with support from the team;
• Practical experience working with service‑oriented, microservice‑based, or monolithic architectures;
• Hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs;
• Experience with SQL databases;
• Experience working with Kafka or other event‑driven messaging platforms;
• Experience with Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript (not required to be your primary focus);
  

Nice to have:

• Experience working in scaled agile environments (SAFe);
• Experience with AKS or similar managed k8s platforms;
• Experience with CI/CD;
• Experience with observability and monitoring solutions.
