Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a data-driven and highly creative YouTube Strategist to lead and scale our channel presence. In this role, you will be the core visionary behind our video content pipeline, taking ownership of our channel’s performance, audience retention, and overall monetization. You will dive deep into audience insights, competitor analysis, and YouTube SEO to build tailored content strategies. You will be in charge as the architect for end-to-end strategy—from conceptualizing scroll-stopping hooks, titles, and thumbnails to briefing our creative teams and analyzing post-publish metrics and as well be accountable for transforming our YouTube presence into a high-performing engine that drives brand awareness, audience engagement, and measurable business results (such as lead generation or direct revenue).
Job Responsibilities
- Channel Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute long-term content strategies aligned with overarching business goals, optimizing for both YouTube search (SEO) and suggested video algorithms.
- Research & Ideation: Conduct comprehensive audience research and competitor analyses to spot trending topics and identify high-value content opportunities.
- Creative Direction & Optimization: Guide the creative team (writers, videographers, editors) to ensure every video serves a strategic purpose. Oversee the optimization of titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails to maximize Click-Through Rates.
- Performance Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze key metrics (audience retention, CTR, watch time, subscriber growth) using YouTube Studio, and translate these insights into actionable channel improvements.
- Workflow Management: Create and maintain an editorial calendar, optimizing production workflows to ensure consistent, high-quality content delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other marketing units (social media, paid ads, product marketing) to seamlessly integrate YouTube videos across the wider marketing ecosystem.
- Monetization & Partnerships: Explore and capitalize on monetization opportunities, brand sponsorships, and merchandise integrations if applicable to the channel’s objectives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Proven experience with demonstrated success in growing YouTube channels (your own or past clients’), backed by a strong portfolio or case studies.
- Deep, up-to-date understanding of the YouTube algorithm, SEO best practices, and community guidelines.
- Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and translate complex data from YouTube Analytics into actionable content strategies.
- A strong eye for storytelling, visual branding, high-converting thumbnails, and engaging video pacing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey strategic briefs and creative feedback to a production team.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
